What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

What is TEDx?

A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks or videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis but must conform to the standards of the global TED events.

What is TEDxAbayi?

TEDxAbayi is an annual TEDx conference that aspires to bring together some of Nigeria’s best scientists, entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators and reformers with diverse experience and deep insights in relevant areas that are of specific concerns to the development of the entire Abayi community in Aba, Abia state, Nigeria. These men and women are invited to share ideas that would spark deep discussions and birth new ideas that will change our society.
